Carry On Baggage Allowances On Flights To/In the U.S.A.

The size, weight and amount of luggage you can take on a plane with you can be a bit confusing at times. Different airlines have different limits and its often easy to forget which airlines allow what.

Some airlines allow you unlimited weight whilst others have strict rules. Some will allow you an additional personal item for free whilst others will charge you. We all dread the idea of turning up to check in, realizing you have an over sized/weight bag and having to pay more. Why cant they all just be the same right?!

Well fear not, our friends over at KnownMan have provided an excellent infographic showing the allowed weight & size limits of carry on baggage and whether you’re allowed an additional personal item.

  1. I remember our first flight to Vegas our bag had to be 35 pounds or less to avoid fees. We didn’t have a scale at home, so considering our dog was about 35 pounds I tried lifting the bag, lifting the dog, lifting the bag, and continuing to do this until I was sure that the bag weighed less than the dog! It worked, but not the most scientific of methods…I recommend a scale lol!!
